Our story
Seventy-nine It is a family business dedicated to the production and marketing of bee products, founded in Tiedra (Valladolid) led by two brothers, Oscar and Samuel.
The story of Setentaynueve begins long before it became a business venture. It all started with our father, Carlos, and a simple yet unwavering passion: bees. For years, his hives were a hobby, a way to understand nature, time, and doing things well.
In 2018, we decided to take the next step and turn that inherited passion into a livelihood. It wasn't an impulsive decision, but the result of years of learning, observing, and respecting the environment. That's how Setentaynueve was born, with a very clear objective: To produce excellent quality products by combining tradition and innovation, always in a responsible and sustainable way, taking care of both the environment and our bees.
We value what is natural and artisanal, the rural world, and above all, honey. We understand each product as the result of a careful process, linked to the land and a way of working that respects the rhythms of nature.
Why 79?
We are located in Tiedra, Our village is located in the province of Valladolid. We are situated in the foothills of the Montes Torozos, in an area dominated by farmland, fields of cereal crops and lavender, and extensive holm oak forests.
It is here, during July and August, that the beehives produce lavender honey, when the fields turn purple and the landscape becomes a unique spectacle. This environment shapes the character of our honeys and our way of working.
But Spain is a country with a great diversity of landscapes and blooms, and that's why we decided to become migratory beekeepers. We move our hives in search of different blooms that don't exist in our immediate surroundings, which allows us to produce honeys with different and unique nuances.
Tasting our honeys is to savor the richness of diverse lands, landscapes and environments.
Who we are
Carlos
She is the origin of the project. She instilled in us a love for nature, for simplicity, and for doing things well. Together with our mother, Pilar—who, despite our insistence, has declined to appear on this website—she passed on to us a way of understanding work and life that is still present at Setentaynueve today.
Oscar
Restless and nonconformist. Always looking for the next step. A staunch defender of the rural world and all it represents. An industrial engineer who believes that, in the food industry, less industry and more knowledge are better.
Samuel
Constant and patient. Almost always surrounded by bees. A forestry engineer who observes the environment, studies the flora, and seeks to apply the best possible practices, always keeping in mind the balance with nature.
Carmina
What could we say about the grandmothers who have taught us what the village means…
